Informatics Level

My friend ever asks me, which one that he should improve his skill, programming or networking. Suddenly I say, "Both of them are low level fields in informatics area."

Whoa, where did I get that answer?
Exactly I do not know where it came from, it just rise in my brain and I just speak it up without more thinking. But I have some arguments for that. I can say that we can divide some informatics fields into their level based on the nearby relation, to machine (computer) or to people (user and another stakeholders).

If we refer to ACM, they already defined 5 sub disciplines of computing and its level based on which they teach, Hardware Architecture, System Infrastructure, Software Methods, Application Technology or Organization/Information System. Those sub disciplines are:
  1. Computer Engineering
  2. Computer Science
  3. Software Engineering
  4. Information System
  5. Information Technology

But in my college, Informatics Study Program (in the old structure) has 7 fields that represented by 7 Laboratories of Expertise. If I try to classify them into their level, there are the results:
  1. Low Level Fields
  2. In this level, we study basic this information age knowledge, from how to write code in a good/right manner, how the code works, what inside this 'black box' (CPU) and things that flowing inside this wire and this air. It consists of:
      • Fundamental Programming
      • Computer Science
      • Distributed System

  1. Mid Level Fields
  2. In here, we study the higher level of computer science applications. And most of these applications need high peripherals specification in order to work properly. If in Low Level, we study how to make a good program in each code line, in Mid Level we must consider to make a good program in a whole system. This level includes:
      • Software Engineering
      • Database System
      • Graphic & Artificial Intelligent

  1. High Level Fields
  2. In this level, we discuss about informatics in business purpose. Even more we don't feel the existence of computer science here. After 6 fields in previous level, there is remain 1 field that has been separated from my study program. But I still say it as an informatics field because we still study information knowledge here. The field is:
      • Information System

However it is not always like that. I can say for example, there is a high level applicative computer science section, but most of computer science section is low level section. So, because I learn programming course that supported by Programming Laboratory and networking course that supported by Distributed System Laboratory, I say programming and networking are low level fields in informatics, isn't it.

Is this Bucket Full?

Today, a professor wants to give a quiz to his students. He has already prepared a bucket and a sack of stones. Afterward he demonstrates to his students that he fills the bucket with his stones. Next he confirms that no stone can fill this bucket again. Then he asks to his students, "Is this bucket full?"

"Yes!" some of his students answer it.

The professor smiles. He takes out a sack of gravels, smaller stones than before. Afterward, he fills the same bucket with these gravels until no gravel can fill in this bucket. Then he asks to his students, "Is this bucket full?"

Their students think a while. "May be no," a student answers.

Hm, professor takes out a sack of sand. Afterward, he fills this bucket with a lot of sand. He shakes the bucket and fills in again with sand until the sand overflow. Then he asks again to his students, "Is this bucket full?"

All of their students answer, "No!"

"Good!" Then professor brings water and pour it into the bucket. He shakes the bucket again and pours water into it again until the water overflow.

"Can anybody tell us what we can get from this illustration?" professor says.

"We can get much more thing if we have an effort for them."

"Hm, it can be that. But that I mean is about how we face our problem."

If we too much argue with more little thing, all we get are just those little think too. Imagine we fill up this bucket with sand before fill it with stone. Of course we can't fill that sand bucket with stone anymore. It applies in our live. We must define what the big stone that we can take and put it in our bucket of live. In other words, we can little by little throw up some tiny things and replace them with the bigger things which are more useful. Right?

Kimagure Romantic

It is "Celeb to Binbo Taro" ending theme. This comedy drama was played by Aya Ueto and Kamiji Yusuke. It seems not enough site that show this interesting lyric. So, I try to write them down here. I get this from avi subtitle that uploaded in d-addicts forum. So, enjoy it and feel the spirit :)

Romantic, the antenna of love
flew away somewhere in the storm
It can't be true You didn't give me the time of day
My heart is a little shaken by your saucy dimples

Honto wa honki de atashi wo

Nante ittara aitsu wa tokuige ni naru kara
Mou hometari shinai
An important person
who actually seriously scolds me
Because it seems he'll be all proud when I say that
I won't praise him anymore

Taikutsu na unmei ni akiaki shita no
Shiranai kotoba de tokihanashite ne
I've gotten fed up with a boring fate
Free me from that with words I don't understand

Darlin' darlin' kokoro no tobira wo kowashite yo
Taisetu na koto wa me wo mite itte
Anata to naraba kono machi wo nukedaseru
Imasugu tsuredashite my sweet sweet darlin'
Darlin' darlin' break down the door to my heart
Look at me and tell me what's important
If I'm with you we can slip out of this town
Lead me out right now my sweet sweet darlin'

Behind The Dart Game

This evening, I played Dart, a dexterity game with my friends in office yard. I ever play it however I can't play it well, so do all my friends. We were grouped in 2 teams. Everyone had 1 chance to try his/her first shoot and 3 chances to shoot and get point each turn. There are 2 turns in this game. However, he/she could give his/her chance to another player if he/she thought he/she could not shoot well and another player could. The winner is the group that collects the higher point.

This game was very exciting. Although we could shoot we could give our chance to another team member that could shoot better, their curiosity overcame this. Myself, I just gave one chance to my friend after my second failure in second turn. Finally, I just gave 1 point to my group which got 22 points total and won this game \(^.^)/

After finishing this game, the host gave us some lesson learn. Dart is both an individual building and team building game. First, curiosity can enhance our motivation. With curiosity, we can try and try again over our failure. But in a team, we should concern to another competence. If they can do it better we should give up in this part. We should give our chance to them for the sake of the team. So, it is our time to share.

Wake up, stand up, how many failure we got, get up and try again!

Story Telling about Two Seeds

This story tells us about 2 seeds. And they tell us about their thoughts. They tell each other to reveal their inner hearts.

The first seed said, I will not grow first. I do not know the situation out there. I'm afraid if I grow, I will be disturbed and had fun by small children. I do not want to grow big first. I fear the wind breeze and blow at any time. I also fear the birds will land and tarnish my branch. I should stay here until the situation in advance of the safe.

Turn sought to convey the second seed, I want to grow quickly. I will grow into a beautiful bush, which shows that there is life here. I will grow into a big tree with boughs that branch everywhere. I want to be a tree that gives fruits to everyone who have been through. I want to protect every person who stay below me from the frosty rain and the burning sun.

1 week later, this last seed grows beautifully and gives the magnificence in the middle of this empty area that is quite dry. Meanwhile the first seeds still does not want to continue to grow and dwells in the land. A cock however comes and scratch that soil. He finds the first and then swallows it...

Analysis Diagram vs Design Diagram

What is the difference between the diagram in Analysis Phase with the diagram in the Design Phase?
In Software Engineering, essentially Analysis closer to the Requirement and Design closer to Implementation.
Thus, the consequences:
  • When do the analysis, first, do not think too various possibility, just spill to the analysis of all the requirement, especially when we make Class Analysis. Then when we design, refine them, which classes that need to be combined or separated, which the Boundary/Entity Class that need Controller Class.
  • The other clear difference is the message in the Sequence Diagram in Analysis Phase still form the clause, but in the Diagram Phase is a message function/attribute that represents the language (web using underscore, which Java with Camel)
So, to refine this Class Analysis Diagram, all of team member should gather again to collect their class and stare with that big Complete Class Analysis to make any change and adaptation each other.

Well, it seems only.OK

2 Day Apprentices

Hmm, it just my Log Activity in my apprentice in Exindo Information Technology.

In a little our first week.
At Friday, there was an intro to the new environment, read the rules, know the problem.
Ow, we (I and 2 my friends) were assigned with an integrated health information system.
We should fix some problem in that portal, the reporting website.
But in our first day, we spent a half time to install the software.
It was too difficult, there were priorities which should be installed first, so we should install in many times.
At last of that day, my computer hadn't installed properly, where my friends had.

Today, in my second day,
In the morning, I still tried to install that program, still didn't work.
Finally I could install when I installed that separately.
Next, the main task, after I restored the databases, I should examines that application task.
In a half time, i could fix 2 files with some problem there.
Oh, I start to like that application

OK, better next time.

Triple The

Now, we try to say something.

The telephone, we say Le téléphone
But
The television
, we say La télévision

In French, we differ between masculine thing and feminine thing.
They say, telephone is masculine so we use Le, television is feminine so we use La
If we say plural things, we use Les, without see those gender.

Le téléphones or La télévisions

See, we also add an "s" as an English plural

Hmm, there are something interesting in French.
If the following noun begins with a vowel , Le or La becomes L'

L'ordinateur (m), it means The computer.
L'ile (f)
, it means The island.

Les ordinateurs and Les iles

First French

Hohoho, lets start our new weblog

Its about French. Lets learn French.
Hm, hm, hm, suppose my English is also in good shape now, because I am not good in English :D
So, I will learn both French and English here.

I take the material from http://www.frenchtutorial.com
You can also get these these tutorial from here.

First, we should know French Pronoun (Pronoms Personnels)
In singular, there is:
- I becomes Je [hje]
- You becomes Tu [tju]
- He becomes Il [il], masculine things
- She becomes Elle [ell] feminine things

Next the plural:
- We become Nous [nu]
- You become Vous [vu]
- They become Ils [ille], masculine
- They become Elles [ella], feminine

Hmm, inside the bracket [...] there is the pronunciation from that word.
But, that is Indonesian pronunciation, especially Javanese pronoun.

OK, lets try:
Je, Tu, Il, Elle, Nous, Vous, Ils, Elles
Je, Tu, Il, Elle, Nous, Vous, Ils, Elles
Je, Tu, Il, Elle, Nous, Vous, Ils, Elles
I, You, He, She, We, You, They, They
Je, Tu, Il, Elle, Nous, Vous, Ils, Elles

See, you can speak French?

Huwa huwa

Huwa..., akhirnya aku bikin blog sendiri.
Hehehe, sebenernya ngga begitu suka sih ngetik-ngetik gitu.
Cuma gara-gara harus bikin CMS, jadi harus survey-survey CMS yang dah jadi.

Blog ini salah satu CMS kan?
Yow, lets check it out
